Hope everyone had a restful weekend.
As I mentioned in my previous note, I returned to campus this past Monday. It’s been a whirlwind of emotions since then. I’m excited yet simultaneously anxious, filled with anticipation and some trepidation for the year ahead. Maybe some of you can relate.
Here’s something that’s been helpful for me, and I hope it might be helpful for you too:
“Stay on the line.” It’s a phrase I heard a few months back.
Imagine your life as a line on a graph. There are peaks when things are going great and valleys when they’re not. “Staying on the line” means holding steady through those highs and lows, maintaining your balance even when the graph dips. It’s about recognizing that while the line may fluctuate, your steady focus will keep you on course.
At the start of the year, I often feel a wide range of emotions. In some moments, I’m confident and ready to tackle challenges, while at other times, I feel more uncertain and overwhelmed. In these moments, I remind myself to "stay on the line."
It pays to be steady in the storm.
It may seem like a platitude, but I assure you, it could make all the difference.
9:17 AM. Signing Off.
Sincerely,
Jack
