Post 9. Will I Finish My Political Science Paper? It's unlikely.
A note from my Harnwell Floor Lounge
I’m currently sitting on the 24th floor of the Harnwell College House with two of my roommates, Jimmy and Peter. It has been a late evening.
I’ve been working on my political science paper all day and found myself pretty stressed earlier. I definitely could have started the assignment last week. It’s honestly quite challenging and forcing me to learn some new skills. Part of the assignment includes a regression model coded in R, which has been a fun but nerve-wracking task.
Amid my stress, however, I somehow had a great evening. I had a great evening because I got to stress out and laugh alongside some of my closest friends. It’s a sort of bonding that’s hard to describe but truly special.
I think my past self lost out on a lot of these moments by putting up blinders when stressed. I brought a laser focus to my work that often led me to hide away in the library in isolation. Quiet time is helpful, but I’ve come to realize it’s good to strike a strong balance.
Praja, Jimmy, Stephan, and Peter — good luck on your assignments, and thanks for the help this evening.
Day 3 of 3 complete. I will certainly be back writing tomorrow with something more interesting. Hope everyone has a great Wednesday.
Best,
Jack
Awesome Jack! Don’t be stressed - you’re young, enjoy this process. Keep these up. Always a pleasant bedtime read for me.
